https://melodiesmods.dreamwidth.org/4309.html (game history up until November 2016)
Around this time, Sonic was crystalized, catching him off-guard as the planet Crystallis crystallized further. He would stay this way for months before being freed just prior to the Heroes of Light's final encounter with Garland. The heroes made a valiant last stand, battling Garland before, ultimately, it was Kalki who slew Garland. Kalki herself was killed, but her power and essence was transferred to Ramza, who used the new power to transform Crystallis into a crystalized wasteland. The Heroes attempted to escape, but were knocked out of the air and put into a five-year stasis. After being freed from this, Sonic found himself separated from most of the other heroes save for three others, exploring a part of this new world until the means were found to reunite others, discovering that four of their number had been turned into Arch-Fiends by Kalki.
After defeating the four, with two of them rejoining the heroes, Sonic and the other heroes made their final stand against Kalki. The long and dangerous fight saw the heroes split up between dealing with Kalki and the personification of the Calamity itself. However, not even bonding with and using the dragon Bahamut was enough for Kalki to try and stop the heroes and, ultimately, Kalki and the threat of the Calamity came to an end, the heroes coming out victorious. With the heroes allowed to return to their old worlds if they wished, Sonic decided to do so, continuing his adventures.
Personality:
Sonic the Hedgehog is the super fast, super cool, blue hedgehog with a ‘tude! Okay, enough bad descriptions - Sonic is probably the idea of being part of the 90s: all attitude, laid back, barely a care in the world and plenty of attitude to go around. He’s mostly a loner, willing to do things on his own and not wait for others. This is mostly because of his impulsive way of thinking - he doesn’t like to stand still and would rather keep moving. Of course, this impulsive way of thinking has lead to him getting into trouble a number of times, the biggest one being his accidental freeing of the Deadly Six in Sonic Lost World by destroying the item Eggman was using to control them. This lead him to insist on having Dr. Eggman help him and Tails when Tails could have handled things on his own, leading to the two friends to fight.
His "cool blue" attitude is both a source of laughs and annoyance towards both friend and foe. While he isn't prone to his American-styled "Ro-Butt-nik" namecalling, he will make jabs towards his more antagonistic faces, such as referring to Knuckles as a "Knucklehead" or, for the longest time, calling Shadow "faker". Of course, even Eggman doesn't escape unfazed, being called "a giant talking egg" and "Egghead", among others. He's not as cruel towards his more closer friends, but he has his moments, such as Sonic's "I don't have time for this" look and brushing off of Tails' amazement over the Egg Carrier's transformation and Sonic's usual brush offs towards Amy Rose, whether it's holding the girl back as he's trying to talk while she's trying to hug and kiss him or just running off in the other direction. He'll also make fun of the situation when he feels he has it under control almost to the point of being arrogant or even boastful. Even when the situation is dire and Sonic probably has no chance of survival, he'll find some way to put in a snarky bite into his dialogue.
However, he does have a number of positive traits. Despite his loner nature, Sonic hates to see others hurt and will take time to comfort them. He also realizes that ignoring the problem isn’t the way to solve things, as he argued with Tikal over Chaos’ feelings of rage after he became Perfect Chaos, telling her that just resealing Chaos without calming him will only lead to him still being angry. He’s also something of a nature lover and will fight to protect or reclaim ravaged areas, even taking the time to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of it all. He does, though, realize that things change and they need to for things to keep growing and continue to move on, which easily fits in with his attitude of being always on the go.
As his Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 theme points out, he has a “steadfast heart of gold”. He runs on the idea that he does things he feels is right, even if it means being wrong for it. This can go as far as being “the bad guy” as he told Merlina he was willing to do anything to stop the powermad King Arthur, even if it meant being the bad guy in the story. Of course, as pointed out above, even this can turn disastrous. He rarely, if ever, mulls on these decisions, feeling that looking back on the past will only slow you down, and he’ll charge headlong into the consequences once his mind is made up.
Another thing that can be seen with Sonic is the fact that he's a wonderful friend to everyone he meets and he has a major capacity for forgiveness, even if it's subtly shown. Sonic greatly cares for his friends and will go out of his way to protect them and is even shown to be distraught when he fails to do so - this is especially shown throughout the Lost World game, as Tails gets captured in a trap and Knuckles and Amy seemingly perish as the world is drained of life. The hedgehog rarely shows grudges towards others - despite those like Knuckles and Shadow trying to kill him in their first encounters with Sonic, the misunderstandings and grudges of the past tend to fade away quickly once everything's laid bare, though Sonic's quick to rib and tease them for their actions. As well, he also shows compassion for others in pain; in Sonic Adventure, it is obvious that Sonic doesn't want to just cram Chaos back into the Master Emerald once the truth of his anger becomes evident and in Sonic and the Secret Rings he forgives Shahra, the Genie of the Ring, for her betrayal by wishing for a mountain of hankerchiefs for her to use as she cries over her actions.
Sonic’s single amazing trait is his amazing willpower. Sonic refuses to give up or to run away. If there’s a will, there’s a way, from forcing himself to use Chaos Control on a fake Chaos Emerald, to swallowing evil essences while as a werehog, to being beaten black and blue from a now-powermad Merlina, to pushing himself to keep going despite having everything fall apart on him. As long as some sort of injustice is going on, Sonic will not back down or surrender. He’ll keep fighting until he wins or he dies, finding no regrets as that just means his story came to an end on a high note.
CRAU developments: At most, Sonic knows and understands that everything can end in an instant and has doubled down on his thoughts that someone trying to create a world of perpetual peace and stagnation is both boring and wrong (the latter more than the former). He'll gladly stand up against anyone who will think that such things are worth ravaging worlds for.
Key themes: Freedom, Adventure, Ever-moving
Main Motivation: To seek out adventure and defend anything and everything from evil.
Skills:
Sonic had incredible super speed, the upper limits never been fully catalogued though mach one is easily reachable for him. He's shown to be fast enough that he can run on water and defy gravity by running on walls or with loop-de-loops. He's agile enough to dodge, sidestep, parkour, flip and otherwise get out of any situation. He is also shown to be an expert rail grinder, able to grind fast and stable enough to hop from rail to rail and even stay on rails when going on loops. With the Speed Boost, a blue aura forms in front of Sonic, allowing him to bust through obstacles or launch them at targets in front of him.
With his speed, he can curl up into a ball, tearing into his foes with a Spin Attack. He can spin on the ground and launch himself with the Spin Dash and launch himself quickly at his opponents with the Homing Attack, striking with perfect accuracy.
Sonic has access to various jobs from the world of Crystallis. However, without his Crystal and thanks to the Void, Sonic is stuck with the Onion Knight and Bearer of Wisdom. As an Onion Knight, Sonic gains the strengths and weaknesses of the multiple jobs he held (in this case, the potential of the Santa Claus job, the speed and agility of the Ninja job and the strength and defense of an Engineer), can use any weapon and armor from those jobs and can use ten attacks of his choosing - creating duplicates with the Ninja's Clone ability or strike with the elemental Ninjutsu skills, Magitek Knight's devastating Electrostatic attack, the Air Bender's Air Punch, the teleporting Flash spell and the time-halting Stop spell from the Time Mage, the hammerspace-like Toy Bag and the All-Knowing List from the Santa job, the Particle Thrower from the Ghostbuster job and finally Excalibur Sonic from Sonic's own personal job, transforming him into the alternate world King Arthur. With the Bearer of Wisdom, a job created through the remains of a Princess Zelda, Sonic gains access to her light magic. He can sense darkness and evil, imbue weapons with holy magic, heal and create barriers, create swords and bows and arrows with holy magic, shroud and fire bolts of light.
In times of duress, Sonic can unleash a Limit Break. In his case, it’s activating his iconic Super Sonic form, making him much more faster and virtually invincible… for a short time, though.
Item: His iconic shoes and gloves
Sample: Sonic took notice of the train around him and the various people on-board. With everyone so down, it seemed like he came on-board at the worst time. Upon discovering some notes revealing the planet destroyers that attack Osiris, the hedgehog understood what was going on.
"Huh, so another 'Entity from elsewhere destroying worlds'? Sounds like I got my work cut out for me." the hedgehog said. "But, I can't work like this while everyone's all bummed out. I'm gonna need to figure out a way to get everyone's spirits up and running again."
He figured the best thing to do was to make his favorite meal - chili dogs. Everyone loved chili dogs, right? Of course, he's missing something.
"Alright, anyone out there know where you guys hid the chili? Hedgehog can't make chili dogs without them!"

Character Notes:
History: Not much of his past is known, but what is known is that he started his heroics when he was ten years old, stopping the mad scientist Dr. Eggman from taking over South Island and protecting the six Chaos Emeralds. When that failed, Eggman attempted to take over the time-traveling Little Planet. Sonic stopped that plot, too, beating his robotic double Metal Sonic and saving "self-proclaimed girlfriend" Amy Rose. When that failed, Eggman built and launched the powerful Death Egg. With the aid of his new friend Tails, the now-numbered seven Chaos Emeralds and his new Super Sonic form, Sonic stopped Eggman and presumably destroyed the battlestation with Eggman in it. Didn't work as the battlestation landed on Angel Island. Despite Eggman turning the island's guardian, Knuckles, against Sonic, the hedgehog was able to stop a second launch. Eggman, soon, got desperate and stole the Master Emerald, using it to power the Death Egg. Despite this, the Death Egg was permenantly destroyed and Sonic recovered the Master Emerald.
Sometime later, Sonic got dragged into the Chaos event, when Dr. Eggman unleashed the water creature known as Chaos. With the aid of Tails, Knuckles, Amy and newcomer Big the Cat, Sonic was able to drop Eggman's newest weapon, the Egg Carrier, before Chaos turned on Eggman and went on a rampage through Station Square as Perfect Chaos. Using the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic purified Chaos and allowed him to be returned to the Master Emerald where he was released. Soon after, Eggman unleashed another evil, Shadow the Hedgehog, who coirced Eggman into gathering the Chaos Emeralds. After temporarily being arrested by G.U.N., Sonic and his friends confronted the scientist and the new hedgehog, learning of Shadow's past and his connection to the Space Station ARK and what happened fifty years ago. When Eggman's plan ended up unleashing his grandfather's final plan - dropping the Chaos Emerald empowered ARK on the Earth, vaporizing it - Sonic and Shadow ended up turning Super, defeating BioLizard, the prototype of the Ultimate Lifeform, and returning ARK to its position in space, but at the seeming cost of Shadow's life.
Not being able to take a real break, Sonic is confronted with a note by Eggman, who challenges him to stop his Egg Fleet. Unknowingly, it wasn't Eggman who put up this challenge, but Metal Sonic, who locked Eggman away and lured Sonic and his friends into a trap. Using the newfound data to become Metal Overlord, it took the combined power of 12 heroes (including the revived Shadow) to stop Metal Overlord. Soon after, Eggman discovered a robot that seemed to not want to work. discarding it, Sonic and Tails found it, naming it Emerl. However, Emerl, a Gizoid, grew stronger by absorbing Chaos Emeralds and, when that was discovered, Eggman reclaimed it and turned it against the others, forcing Sonic to put it down. Eggman later rebuilt it as Germel and, when it rebelled, Sonic and Eggman teamed up to stop it, Tails rebuilding it and giving it to Cream as a new friend for her to play with.
Soon after, the Black Arms race arrived on Earth, intending on taking over the Earth and subjugating its populace to be nothing more than its power source. Despite Sonic leading the charge against them, it was Shadow who saved the day.
Sonic 2006 did not happen. It's an alternate timeline now.
Eggman started to prove much more cunning afterwards. Luring Super Sonic into a trap, he used those energies to break the Earth into multiple pieces, unleashing the beast known as Dark Gaia. At the same time, Sonic was turned into his "Werehog" form. With the aid of Chip, a small creature whose also Light Gaia, Sonic restored the Chaos Emeralds, purged his Werehog form and restored Earth to its natural form. Soon after, Eggman unleashed his latest plan... an intergalatic amusement park. Sonic and Tails decided to investigate and learned that Eggman was capturing alien beings known as Wisps and, with the aid of one Sonic named Yakker, freed the aliens and brought down the amusement park.
However, this lead directly into Eggman's biggest plot: discovering a mysterious creature, Eggman captured and tried to control, only gaining help from the one person he could - his past self. Using the power of the creature, Time Eater, they crashed Sonic's party and began tearing apart time/space. After rescuing Tails, he and Sonic encounter two people capable enough of aiding them in stopping Eggman's latest plot - their younger selves. Together, they stopped the mad scientsts' plans and restored time/space to its natural state.
At least, until the next game.
Personality: Want a clear way of how Sonic works? His theme song from the Sonic Adventure games, It Doesn't Matter, fits the bill. Showing off isn't his thing. He'll do tricks while in the air or in victory, but it's more of his personal style than "Nyah, nyah, I'm better than you." Games like Sonic Rush and Sonic Generations tend to give Sonic bonuses for tricks, so it's less showoff-y and more for his own amusement and aid. As well, he doesn't criticize when it isn't needed. In Sonic Adventure, he ignored Tails' stunned comment about the transforming Egg Carrier (mostly because it was a major Captain Obvious moment than an awe-inspiring moment). In Sonic Colors, after spending most of the game listening to Eggman's theme park-themed taunts and one-liners, Sonic got fed up and told him to drop it.
One of his major traits that really stands out from him is his near-constant refusal to stand down and accept defeat. Even when the chips are down and death is immenent, Sonic won't give up. As well, he has an amazing wellspring of willpower. It's this willpower that's allowed him to pull off stunts that no one should be able to do, from using Chaos Control with a fake Chaos Emerald, guzzling down evil essenses in werehog form, and just flat out keep fighting while incredibly black and blue.
Despite this, Sonic isn't all attitude. Despite a lot of the fan perception that Sonic would rather want all of his friends and allies to just go away, he does care about them. He's a lone wolf by trade and only really allying with Tails, but that won't stop him from coming to their aid, such as when the Black Arms' arrival prompted Sonic to arrive at the same time as Shadow, or admitting that he did need their help, such as the supposed final fight with Eggman at the end of Sonic Heroes. As well, he doesn't believe in "good enough." He argued against Tikal's idea of just resealing Chaos when it was still angry and outright refused Merlina's idea of a Camelot that continued forever. He also isn't one to dwell on the past or even be sad.
However, the one thing that stands out most of all is that Sonic doesn't run by the ideas of "good" and "evil" - he does things his way, no matter what other people tell him. When captured by G.U.N after Shadow's awakening, he broke out the first chance he got. He flat out tells the Camelot version of Blaze the Cat that he has no master except the wind the blows free (earning him the title "Knight of the Wind") and outright tells Eggman that no sort of copyright law's gonna stop him from doing what he wants. He even flat out tells Merlina that he doesn't care if he has to play the bad guy - he's going to do what he wants to do and if it means going against other people, so be it.
Other: Sonic moves at speeds greater than the speed of sound unaided. At those speeds, he can use his body as a buzzsaw-like weapon known as the Spin Attack and has modified it over the years, including the Spin Dash and the Homing Attack. With the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic can becoming Super Sonic, becoming invincible, being able to fly/float and reaching much more incredible speeds.

First Person (entry type): [A gloved finger pokes at the screen, tapping it a few times before pulling away.]
Hey, ducks! Got a question for ya! It's lunch time and I'm hungry - trying to stop Eggman from time to time can do that for ya, heheh! So, what do you think it should be:
[And he holds up... two chili dogs?]
A chili dog? Or a chili dog with onions? Both look good, but, well, the one with onions has more on it. Hmm... Or, hey, I can have both!
[And he starts chomping down on the one with onions, twirling the plain one in his hand.]
...really good! You got good chili dogs where you guys are? Wouldn't mind trying the "forigen" cuisine!
Third Person: Not just one world, or one galaxy. Oh, no, there was a whole multiverse of them! The idea of bouncing across one universe to another caught Sonic's attention - mostly because of the things he could find while traveling. The sights, the sounds, the action, the food... but at the same time, it also meant that there were new worlds to protect. Oh, sure, they'd probably tell him to get out or not to bother, but Sonic the Hedgehog doesn't listen to people's orders - he runs his own path. If they'd hate him for it, so be it. To him, as long as he runs free, he's happy.
As he starts running, heading for a certain spot, he knows that anything could happen once on the other side. He might not even get back home if he takes a wrong turn!
"Well, nothing ever got started without jumping in feet first!" Sonic said to no one, spotting his target: a Warp Ring. Usually transporting him to special stages, it now served as a way to bounce from world to world. "Here goes nothing! Look out, multiverse, here comes Sonic the Hedgehog!" With that, he took a flying leap through the ring. Where he'd end up, who knows? All he knew, right now? That where he landed, it was going to be a BLAST.
