Character Notes:
History: Not much of his past is known, but what is known is that he started his heroics when he was ten years old, stopping the mad scientist Dr. Eggman from taking over South Island and protecting the six Chaos Emeralds. When that failed, Eggman attempted to take over the time-traveling Little Planet. Sonic stopped that plot, too, beating his robotic double Metal Sonic and saving "self-proclaimed girlfriend" Amy Rose. When that failed, Eggman built and launched the powerful Death Egg. With the aid of his new friend Tails, the now-numbered seven Chaos Emeralds and his new Super Sonic form, Sonic stopped Eggman and presumably destroyed the battlestation with Eggman in it. Didn't work as the battlestation landed on Angel Island. Despite Eggman turning the island's guardian, Knuckles, against Sonic, the hedgehog was able to stop a second launch. Eggman, soon, got desperate and stole the Master Emerald, using it to power the Death Egg. Despite this, the Death Egg was permenantly destroyed and Sonic recovered the Master Emerald.
Sometime later, Sonic got dragged into the Chaos event, when Dr. Eggman unleashed the water creature known as Chaos. With the aid of Tails, Knuckles, Amy and newcomer Big the Cat, Sonic was able to drop Eggman's newest weapon, the Egg Carrier, before Chaos turned on Eggman and went on a rampage through Station Square as Perfect Chaos. Using the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic purified Chaos and allowed him to be returned to the Master Emerald where he was released. Soon after, Eggman unleashed another evil, Shadow the Hedgehog, who coirced Eggman into gathering the Chaos Emeralds. After temporarily being arrested by G.U.N., Sonic and his friends confronted the scientist and the new hedgehog, learning of Shadow's past and his connection to the Space Station ARK and what happened fifty years ago. When Eggman's plan ended up unleashing his grandfather's final plan - dropping the Chaos Emerald empowered ARK on the Earth, vaporizing it - Sonic and Shadow ended up turning Super, defeating BioLizard, the prototype of the Ultimate Lifeform, and returning ARK to its position in space, but at the seeming cost of Shadow's life.
Not being able to take a real break, Sonic is confronted with a note by Eggman, who challenges him to stop his Egg Fleet. Unknowingly, it wasn't Eggman who put up this challenge, but Metal Sonic, who locked Eggman away and lured Sonic and his friends into a trap. Using the newfound data to become Metal Overlord, it took the combined power of 12 heroes (including the revived Shadow) to stop Metal Overlord. Soon after, Eggman discovered a robot that seemed to not want to work. discarding it, Sonic and Tails found it, naming it Emerl. However, Emerl, a Gizoid, grew stronger by absorbing Chaos Emeralds and, when that was discovered, Eggman reclaimed it and turned it against the others, forcing Sonic to put it down. Eggman later rebuilt it as Germel and, when it rebelled, Sonic and Eggman teamed up to stop it, Tails rebuilding it and giving it to Cream as a new friend for her to play with.
Soon after, the Black Arms race arrived on Earth, intending on taking over the Earth and subjugating its populace to be nothing more than its power source. Despite Sonic leading the charge against them, it was Shadow who saved the day.
Sonic 2006 did not happen. It's an alternate timeline now.
Eggman started to prove much more cunning afterwards. Luring Super Sonic into a trap, he used those energies to break the Earth into multiple pieces, unleashing the beast known as Dark Gaia. At the same time, Sonic was turned into his "Werehog" form. With the aid of Chip, a small creature whose also Light Gaia, Sonic restored the Chaos Emeralds, purged his Werehog form and restored Earth to its natural form. Soon after, Eggman unleashed his latest plan... an intergalatic amusement park. Sonic and Tails decided to investigate and learned that Eggman was capturing alien beings known as Wisps and, with the aid of one Sonic named Yakker, freed the aliens and brought down the amusement park.
However, this lead directly into Eggman's biggest plot: discovering a mysterious creature, Eggman captured and tried to control, only gaining help from the one person he could - his past self. Using the power of the creature, Time Eater, they crashed Sonic's party and began tearing apart time/space. After rescuing Tails, he and Sonic encounter two people capable enough of aiding them in stopping Eggman's latest plot - their younger selves. Together, they stopped the mad scientsts' plans and restored time/space to its natural state.
At least, until the next game.
Personality: Want a clear way of how Sonic works? His theme song from the Sonic Adventure games, It Doesn't Matter, fits the bill. Showing off isn't his thing. He'll do tricks while in the air or in victory, but it's more of his personal style than "Nyah, nyah, I'm better than you." Games like Sonic Rush and Sonic Generations tend to give Sonic bonuses for tricks, so it's less showoff-y and more for his own amusement and aid. As well, he doesn't criticize when it isn't needed. In Sonic Adventure, he ignored Tails' stunned comment about the transforming Egg Carrier (mostly because it was a major Captain Obvious moment than an awe-inspiring moment). In Sonic Colors, after spending most of the game listening to Eggman's theme park-themed taunts and one-liners, Sonic got fed up and told him to drop it.
One of his major traits that really stands out from him is his near-constant refusal to stand down and accept defeat. Even when the chips are down and death is immenent, Sonic won't give up. As well, he has an amazing wellspring of willpower. It's this willpower that's allowed him to pull off stunts that no one should be able to do, from using Chaos Control with a fake Chaos Emerald, guzzling down evil essenses in werehog form, and just flat out keep fighting while incredibly black and blue.
Despite this, Sonic isn't all attitude. Despite a lot of the fan perception that Sonic would rather want all of his friends and allies to just go away, he does care about them. He's a lone wolf by trade and only really allying with Tails, but that won't stop him from coming to their aid, such as when the Black Arms' arrival prompted Sonic to arrive at the same time as Shadow, or admitting that he did need their help, such as the supposed final fight with Eggman at the end of Sonic Heroes. As well, he doesn't believe in "good enough." He argued against Tikal's idea of just resealing Chaos when it was still angry and outright refused Merlina's idea of a Camelot that continued forever. He also isn't one to dwell on the past or even be sad.
However, the one thing that stands out most of all is that Sonic doesn't run by the ideas of "good" and "evil" - he does things his way, no matter what other people tell him. When captured by G.U.N after Shadow's awakening, he broke out the first chance he got. He flat out tells the Camelot version of Blaze the Cat that he has no master except the wind the blows free (earning him the title "Knight of the Wind") and outright tells Eggman that no sort of copyright law's gonna stop him from doing what he wants. He even flat out tells Merlina that he doesn't care if he has to play the bad guy - he's going to do what he wants to do and if it means going against other people, so be it.
Other: Sonic moves at speeds greater than the speed of sound unaided. At those speeds, he can use his body as a buzzsaw-like weapon known as the Spin Attack and has modified it over the years, including the Spin Dash and the Homing Attack. With the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic can becoming Super Sonic, becoming invincible, being able to fly/float and reaching much more incredible speeds.

First Person (entry type): [A gloved finger pokes at the screen, tapping it a few times before pulling away.]
Hey, ducks! Got a question for ya! It's lunch time and I'm hungry - trying to stop Eggman from time to time can do that for ya, heheh! So, what do you think it should be:
[And he holds up... two chili dogs?]
A chili dog? Or a chili dog with onions? Both look good, but, well, the one with onions has more on it. Hmm... Or, hey, I can have both!
[And he starts chomping down on the one with onions, twirling the plain one in his hand.]
...really good! You got good chili dogs where you guys are? Wouldn't mind trying the "forigen" cuisine!
Third Person: Not just one world, or one galaxy. Oh, no, there was a whole multiverse of them! The idea of bouncing across one universe to another caught Sonic's attention - mostly because of the things he could find while traveling. The sights, the sounds, the action, the food... but at the same time, it also meant that there were new worlds to protect. Oh, sure, they'd probably tell him to get out or not to bother, but Sonic the Hedgehog doesn't listen to people's orders - he runs his own path. If they'd hate him for it, so be it. To him, as long as he runs free, he's happy.
As he starts running, heading for a certain spot, he knows that anything could happen once on the other side. He might not even get back home if he takes a wrong turn!
"Well, nothing ever got started without jumping in feet first!" Sonic said to no one, spotting his target: a Warp Ring. Usually transporting him to special stages, it now served as a way to bounce from world to world. "Here goes nothing! Look out, multiverse, here comes Sonic the Hedgehog!" With that, he took a flying leap through the ring. Where he'd end up, who knows? All he knew, right now? That where he landed, it was going to be a BLAST.
